Summer Reading 2023
We piloted a new on-stage interview format for the keynote in the Summer of 2023, when Cristina Henríquez, author of our 2023 Summer Reading The Book of Unknown Americans, was our speaker. During the 2022-2023 academic year, a small group of students met monthly with Judit Kardos to craft the list of questions for the speaker.
Junior Journalism majors, Arianna McLeod and Delaney Smith, interviewed Cristina on stage. Sophomore art major, Shane Tomalinas, created beautiful graphics that advertised SRP programs on digital signage.

Summer Reading 2022
August 29th 2022, “Hey Kiddo” author, Jarrett J. Krosoczka, visited TCNJ
Multi-talented graphic artist, Jarrett J. Krosoczka, visited TCNJ on August 29th, 2022. Six students from the Art Department gathered on Sunday, the day before, to decorate campus walls with chalk art, inspired by Hey Kiddo, to welcome Jarrett to our campus. Jarrett loved the graphic art! We had wonderful conversations with Jarrett throughout the day, we enjoyed his keynote where he answered questions at the end in a unique way by drawing pictures for us in real time.
His charming personality and his dynamic and engaging presentation made his visit exceptionally memorable. Everyone surveyed rated Jarrett as an Excellent or Very good keynote speaker and we ha record engagement reported by students at his keynote . His book was also very popular with students, 96% of our incoming students reported to have read the whole book These are record numbers for the SRP. Thanks so much, Jarrett!
